Towards the end of the week, Kris joined John Thomas and I in NC so we could have our first getaway! There have been times when one of us, or the other, is away from John Thomas, but never away together! We decided it was time to have a "babymoon" before Miss Ruby makes her appearance, and asked my parents if they would keep John Thomas for a couple of days. Of course, they gladly accepted! We spent two nights in the mountains with my best friend and roommate from college, Abby and her husband, Ryan. We had SO much fun! Definitely a different experience from our college days, but nonetheless, a perfect weekend away!
Abby is due with a baby boy around Thanksgiving, so we were quite the group waddling around! We all arrived late Friday afternoon and headed to our cabin to turn on the water and heat before dark. After getting settled in, we made a pit stop for snacks and drinks, then went to an early dinner. Back at the cabin we listened to music, ate Oreos and milk, and played dominoes until around 11:00, yes 11:00 PM, we were wild and crazy!

We had the best breakfast Saturday morning at Daniel Boone Inn after waiting for 45 mins in the freezing cold! I could barely move when we finished!
After breakfast we shopped around and waited for the App game. It felt so good to be back in Boone. Abby and I talked about our time there and relived many memories all weekend!

We packed up and left early Sunday morning after eating another large breakfast! We were happy to have the time together, but were both ready and excited to get back to John Thomas!
