MORE Cousins!

On October 11, my brother and sister in law had a gender reveal party to reveal to the family what the sex of their new TWINS would be.  We were so anxious to find out, and Mandy planned the cutest mustache and lips party for the reveal.

This will be their second set of twins and we couldn't be happier to have more babies to love on!  Here are a few pictures of the party!

We all waited patiently for the time to pop the balloons, which would be filled with moustaches, lips or a combination of both.  We thought 1 boy and 1 girl!

MUCH to our surprise, when Ken and Mandy popped the balloons - ALL mustaches!  We will be having two more BOY cousins to play with!
We couldn't be more excited for more trucks and trains!  Bring on the baby boys!

Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago we took a trip to a local pumpkin patch!  Our trip started out a little off because as soon as we got there we went to change John Thomas' diaper to find out he had exploded out of his onesie, pants and jacket.  It was the first cold day of fall, so the only clothes I had were short sleeves!  So we left quickly after some good laughs and got him cleaned up and came back, not leaving a lot of time to spend, but we made the most of our short time there!

First we stopped to make a few pictures in a giant painted wooden pumpkin!

Our two sweet boys!
Our tickets included a hot dog, so we stopped to eat for a few minutes!

I have SO many pictures of Koen with this same "hot dog eating" face!

They also give you a cup of food to feed the animals, although they warned us that they had been fed all day, so they might not be hungry.  Lucky for us, this little guy was still ready to take anything anyone would offer! John Thomas LOVES animals and just kept staring and smiling at him!

They also had a train that you could ride around the patch, so all the boys loaded up for their ride.  I love how protective Koen is of John Thomas, he is always watching out for him and did just that the whole time they were riding.
Brothers!
I love Abe's face in this picture!  He doesn't look very sure of this ride, and Ben is taking control!
Tongue out is the best way to ride!

I love how their facial expressions are so similar here, sometimes the faces John Thomas make reminds us so much of Koen.

Maybe next year we will have enough time to go on the hay ride!

8 Months Old!

I am VERY late with this post, but wanted to document because this month has been FULL of new things for our little man! It seems like everyday John Thomas learned something new, even our nanny said that each time she comes she feels like she asks, "When did he learn to do, that?" Life is certainly getting more and more exciting with each new skill he masters!

John Thomas,

Wow, you are our little ham!  We could not be more proud of all the new things  you are learning.  You pick up on everything so fast that we can barely keep up!  We are blessed by your sweet smile and perfect laugh, and love you more than you can imagine!

Here are some of the things you have been doing this month:
  • Started going to MDO and you love it!  They always tell us how happy you are!
  • Scooted for the first time to grab your Daddy's tools (September 9)
  • Sat up from crawling position on your own (September 23)
  • the biggest one of all - CRAWLING - everywhere and across everything! (September 26)
  • I picked you up from MDO and they told me you signed "milk" and "eat" since then you regularly sign "milk" and we have seen a couple others, but not regularly, "dog" and "all done" (September 27)
  • Said your first word, "da da" and the next day said "ma ma" although, you mainly say "ma ma" only when you are upset and say "da da" all the time! (September 27)
  • Pulled up on the furniture and your crib (September 28)
  • You started giving "high fives" and will "dance" or "shake it" on command!
  • You still love your big brother and Lainey and immediately light up when we talk about either one.  Lainey is even starting to like you!
  • You still talk ALL the time!  To everyone and can be quite serious with your babble, then immediately start cackling.  I wish we knew what was racing through your little mind each time!
  • Your favorite game is Peek-a-Boo! We say, "Where's John Thomas?" and pull the blanket over your face and you laugh so hard, every time!
  • You went to Koen's first flag football game and watched intently!

Eating:
Our child loves food, all kinds.  He has never turned away anything we have given him.  He eats pretty much anything we have on our plates and we still consistently do breakfast and dinner.  Some favorites are: bananas, avocado, red pepper, and sweet potato.  For milk feedings, we are down to 5 a day, typically going 3 and a half to 4 hours in between.  I am so thankful he is still a good nurser!

Sleep:
You are an excellent sleeper!  Typically we put you to bed around 7:45 or 8:00 and you consistently sleep until 7:30 or 8:00.  If you wake earlier, you are content to play in your crib until we come and pick you up.

Toys:
You are still not crazy about the jumper or walker, you would rather explore the world on your own and not be confined to any type of seat!  Other toys are hit and miss, you still love your tool bench, but aren't typically entertained my anything very long!
    Stats:
I am not sure about weight, we go early in November for a 9 month check up, but my best guess is around 20 lbs, we have lots of chubby rolls!

    Clothes:
We are still in 9-12 month clothes and are in size 3 diapers, but I believe size 4 diapers are in the near future!

We are so blessed to be your parents, and I will never be able to explain you how full you make our hearts!

    Love, Mama and Dada
