Running Girls Baby Shower

My group of running girls hosted a shower to honor our sweet girl!  They did such a great job planning out all the details and it was so nice to spend time together eating and laughing instead of huffing and puffing :)  They also had the genius idea that since it was a running themed shower, we wear running clothes!  That made this lady, very, very happy!

The cupcakes had little finish lines with her name, race bibs and medals - they were SO tasty!

We did a race relay where we had to change a diaper blindfolded, sad to say that my relay team lost!
My friend, Jill, made signs - they were so funny and will be going with us to the hospital.  Kris said he would hang them up as motivation! My favorite is, "Finishing is your ONLY option!"

My super talented, crafty friend, Ashley got Ruby cloth diapers and added removable ruffles, to say the least I was super excited!  Not only that, but she drove over 3 hours to surprise me and come to my shower!
Crystal's baby, Hazel, got to join the party for a little while!

More cute, special gifts from great friends.
 Most of the group!

I am so blessed by these women and their friendships.  We do more than run, we share, encourage and do life together.  I am thankful that this "non-runner" was encouraged by a couple of super special friends to try it out.  God certainly puts people into your life in His perfect timing!

Cosmic Jump!

A few months ago we took a Saturday trip to Allen to do some outlet shopping and I thought it would be a good time to take Koen to Cosmic Jump.  He had been asking to go for months since he went on a trip with school.  Bonus that there was a Groupon for a two hour session!  Unfortunately, that day he wasn't feeling well so we decided it would be best to come back when he felt better.  A couple of weekends ago, we went back to the outlets to do some early Christmas shopping and told Koen we would go to Cosmic Jump after.  I think he probably asked 100 times when we were going!

The Groupon was for either one, two hour pass, or two, one hour passes.  We decided that two hours was a long time to jump so we would let John Thomas use the other pass, not knowing if there would really be anything he could do or if he would even like it.  To say the least, I think he had the best time of any kid there!!

They had two separate areas, one for kiddos eight years old and up, and one for seven and under - BIG age difference from 21 months to seven years, but our little man held his own with the big kids!

He climbed up this big inflatable slide by himself and would get to the top to make sure we were watching and then slide down and laugh and say, "Funnnnn!"

It took him a little while to get the hang of the trampolines but once he found his balance he would laugh, jump and fall.
He asked where Bubba was a lot, and had to go over to check on him numerous times! He didn't quite understand why they couldn't jump together.
Counting is very important when getting ready to jump, especially counting on your fingers! It probably went something like this, "twwwoo, six, eight, GO!"

There was one inflatable that Koen and John Thomas could go in together, but John Thomas didn't do much waiting around for Koen!
Koen spent the majority of his time playing basketball and dodge ball with the other kids, so it was really hard to get any pictures of him!  Here he is looking really tired after all that action.

It was definitely worth the one hour and twelve dollars!  I think we will most likely be going back!

Here are a few videos Kris took, you can really see how much fun was had and why all the pictures are blurry.  It was non-stop action!

32 Week Pregnancy Survey - 8 months!

How Far Along: 32 weeks (We didn't get the heartbeat, she was laying funny so it was hard to find and I got too distracted to ask!)

Size of baby: A Squash! (
Average size:  15.2 to 16.7 inches, 2.5-3.8 lbs)

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  8 lbs this month
! (30 total)

Maternity Clothes: Absolutely! Anything that isn't maternity is super tight!

Gender: Sweet baby GIRL! Ruby Caroline

Movement: She moves all the time, especially at night and in the morning.  Sono confirmed that her little feet and hands are hanging out on the right side of my body.

What I miss:
Being able to snuggle close with John Thomas, it is hard for him to sit on my lap without my belly getting in the way!

Sleep:  A little better this month, except for getting up to use the bathroom.

Symptoms: Not much this month.  I finally went to the chiropractor and I think that helped my back, it hasn't been giving me as much trouble.  I also slowed down my walking, I was doing anywhere from 10-17 miles a week and now I am walking around 10 and doing the elliptical, that seems to help.

Cravings: Everything tastes great!

Best Moment this week (month): We are now going to the doctor bi-weekly, and at my 30 week appointment my doctor ordered a sonogram because my belly was measuring a couple of weeks behind so she wanted to confirm Ruby is growing like she should be.  The sonogram confirmed she is growing right on schedule and is just super low in my pelvis (like her big brother was!) so I am measuring small.  Thankfully, she is not sunny side up right now, like he was.  We loved getting to see her again, although it was hard to see her sweet face because she is so low!  She weighed (at 30 weeks) around 3 lbs and 12 oz, she may be another big baby.  Her heartbeat was 150 beats per minute at 30 weeks.

What we are looking forward to: The holidays and getting some organizing done around the house.  I cannot believe that she will be here in 7 short weeks!

Halloween Party and Trick or Treating!

My sister in law had all our family over for a Halloween party at her house.  We had so much fun watching the kiddos play and going "real" Trick or Treating!

We had a ton of great Halloween food.  Candace and Kim did a great job with the food!
 Our crew before getting dressed!
John Thomas and Kennedy shared a table for dinner, they both love their food!

 Pretty Reagan all dressed up!
Our little Bam Bam playing on the slide before leaving the house, he loves counting down before sliding!

He grabbed a piece of candy from Aunt Candace's bucket before leaving the house

 Our very large crew!

Malachi and Greyson were completely content in their stroller!
 Pretty Kamryn!

PaPa and Gran Gran came, too!
Pappy carried these two back the whole way, he had quite the full load!
Uncle Kris got some baby Kamryn loving!
John Thomas was so much fun this year.  He would run and scream, "I need candy!" We have no idea how he even knows what candy is since he's never had a piece!  At some houses he would go to the door and cry because he thought they were taking his candy and at other houses he would go and give them a piece of his candy from his bag, such a silly boy.

My sister in law, Mandy is by far a much better photographer and documenter than I am - the following photos are from her camera!

Such a fun, Halloween night!  It has never been my favorite holiday, but having small kiddos everywhere sure makes it a lot more fun!
